Esther Simpson Building

The Esther Simpson Building is a stunning new flagship development on campus and part of the Leeds University Business School.

Venue info

Having officially opened in early 2022, the fully wheelchair-accessible Esther Simpson Building is the latest addition to our portfolio. Purpose built as a centre for innovation and collaboration, this modern development forms part of the School of Law and Leeds University Business School.

With a contemporary aesthetic and two state-of-the-art lecture theatres, offering alternative configurations to suit different event styles, the Esther Simpson Building provides a dynamic environment for meetings and conferences. Both theatres have been designed with user comfort and convenience in mind.

Traditional lecture theatre:

  • Can accommodate up to 390 delegates in fixed theatre-style
  • Ideal for formal presentations, lectures and conferences
  • Offers a clear line of sight from every seat
  • Individual power supply at every seat
  • Comes complete with an installed PA system and three built-in central projection screens for displaying your content

“Harvard Style” lecture theatre:

  • Can accommodate up to 240 delegates
  • Every seat offers an optimum view and can rotate 180 degrees to facilitate open collaboration
  • Individual power supply at every seat
  • Includes three built-in projection screens at the front of the room
  • Technically equipped for hybrid events, with ceiling-mounted cameras and microphones positioned discreetly throughout the space to help focus attention on active participants in discussions. This serves to enhance the communication experience for both in room and remote delegates

Esther Simpson Building – additional features and facilities:
