University of Leeds Conferences and Events celebrates double win at the mia Awards

University of Leeds Conferences and Events is proud to announce a double award win at the Meetings Industry Association (mia) Awards, held on Thursday 6 November at The Belfry Hotel.

The mia Awards celebrate excellence across the UK’s business meetings and events sector. Recognising outstanding individuals and teams who are setting new standards in quality, innovation, and professionalism.

Rising star and individual excellence

Gabby Beetham, Business Development Executive, was awarded Bronze in the Rising Star category. Recognising her exceptional early-career success, drive, and contribution to the University’s events business.

Chelsea Rolfe, Assistant Head of Conferences and Events (Sales and Marketing), received the Individual Award. Acknowledging her leadership, commitment to sustainability, and influence in driving business growth and supporting team development.

Both awards highlight the passion, talent and ambition within the University’s Conferences and Events team. Who continue to deliver exceptional experiences and strengthen Leeds’ position as a leading destination for meetings and events.

Commenting on the success, Sam Glenister-Batey, Deputy Director of Commercial Business Development at the University of Leeds, said:
